For my birthday this year, Becky and I are going shopping in new York. We fly on my birthday (19th Nov) and have 5 days there, trying to prioritise what we want to do but as long as Becky gets to shop she will be happy!
Tickets have arrived and I am beginning to get excited and nervous.

It is something we always said we would do and as Becky does plan to work in Australia in a year or two I need to make the most of my time with her.

You can't beat Christmas shopping in New York. Last time I went it was 1976 but I bet it hasn't changed much.

Less than two weeks to go now, yesterday becky got some currency for us and I have sorted out my stitching to do during the flight.

I can't get insurance either these last few years because of my heart condition which makes my international travel a bit daunting but I just cross my fingers all will be well. I wouldn't risk it going to the States or Canada though as the medical bills are enormous there.

i know hun because the kids are growing up so fast me and shaun would love to get away but he wont go if i cant and that makes me feel like i am spoiling things for him its because i have 17 or so blood clots in my head legs and lung so a long flight wouldnt be a good idea

hugs jayne xx

We are the opposite here Jayne, it's me who wants to travel and hubby who won't. He's in a wheelchair most of the time and as a repairman has seen too often what an airline can do to wheelchairs. So, I travel alone or with other gals. My last big (for me) trip was from BC to Newfoundland in 2007 for an embroidery seminar, getting there a few days early & renting a car for sightseeing. Would do it again in a heartbeat, but have to save up my AirMiles (collect them when you shop at certain stores, 3400 to get to Newfoundland, I now have 218). So tell your Shaun - if I can do it, he can too! Hugs, Susan
